Abuja, Nigeria – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has denied reports claiming that the party dissolved its State Executive Committees in Ogun State, Ekiti State, and Ondo State.
Okay News reports that the party described the alleged announcement as illegal and unwarranted, insisting that no such decision had been taken regarding the elected state executives.
In a statement on Saturday issued by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, the party said the purported dissolution was an affront to ongoing reconciliation efforts within its ranks.
The statement warned that attempts to dissolve the state executive committees could deepen internal divisions at both state and national levels.
According to the party, the notice circulating about the dissolution is null, void and of no effect.
The PDP therefore urged its state chapters, as well as party officers at the local government and ward levels, to disregard the announcement and continue performing their lawful duties.
The party also emphasised that its ongoing reconciliation efforts are aimed at restoring unity and strengthening its structure ahead of future elections.
