Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has arrived the national headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja.
He was accompanied by a large crowd of supporters and praise singers.
Spokesman of the party, Dayo Adeyeye, had earlier said the former vice president would visit the PDP headquarters on Monday.
He was received by Adeyeye on behalf of the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee of the party.
Atiku, addressing party members, said the PDP was the only political party in Nigeria.
He said, “PDP is the only party in this country. All those who left should return home like I did. We want to tell Nigerians that we have learnt from our mistakes.”
Atiku had in a Facebook live video on Sunday announced his defection to the party.
