The three school girls who were rescued from their abductors resumed studies on Monday at Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary, Agunfoye-Lugbusi, near Ikorodu, Lagos State, reports the News Agency of Nigeria.

An administrative staff member of the seminary, who pleaded anonymity, told NAN at the school that the girls had joined their schoolmates for revision classes ahead of their examination starting next week.

“The girls are back in school and they are also preparing for their forthcoming examinations.

“This week is for revision and examinations will commence fully next week,” he said.

A correspondent of NAN, who visited the school, reports that some parents who withdrew their children following the abduction had begun to return them there.

Mrs Bola Odu, a parent who returned her children to the school, told NAN that the incident was a lesson for other school authorities to beef-up security around their premises.

Odu also advised them to always carry out proper screening and profiling of those to be employed as teaching and non-teaching staff.

“I have a boy and a girl in the school and I have returned them after the kidnap incident was resolved.’’

Another parent, who pleaded anonymity, advised school authorities to prioritise security in schools for the safety of their pupils.

NAN reports that there was a beef-up of the security in and around the school.

NAN also reports that three female students, who were kidnapped by gunmen from the junior seminary at about 8p.m. on February 29, were rescued by the police on March 6.
