President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday left the country for New York to attend the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Buhari would join other world leaders in debating issues of world importance and also speak to the assembly.

The general meeting, themed “Focusing On People: Striving For Peace And A Decent Life For All On A Sustainable Planet”, is expected to be used by President Buhari as a platform to request the repatriation of funds stolen from the country.

According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, this would be a central point when the president takes the podium on Monday.
