The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has officially left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the ruling party.
The announcement was made by APC National Chairman Nentawe Yelwata during the party’s 14th National Caucus meeting held at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja. Yelwata, who is also from Plateau State, informed party leaders that the governor’s move strengthens the APC’s hold in the region.
According to the APC chairman, Governor Mutfwang’s defection means that all states in Nigeria’s North-Central zone are now under APC leadership, marking a major political shift in the region.
The development adds Governor Mutfwang to a growing list of politicians who have recently switched allegiance to the ruling party, as political realignments continue across the country.
Further details surrounding the defection, including reactions from the PDP and the Plateau State Government, are expected to emerge in the coming hours.
