The Delta state police command on Monday paraded an unemployed middle aged man for allegedly raping his twin daughters consistently for five years. The new Delta police commissioner, Zanna Mohammed Ibrahim, identified the suspect as Isiaka Kareem, an Asaba resident who originally hails from Abeokuta in Ogun state.

Ibrahim said the suspect has confessed to the crime and blamed the devil for his actions. The police commissioner disclosed that the girls made a report against their dad at police A Division in Asaba, alleging that all attempts to convince him to stop has proved abortive.

However, Kareem publicly insisted that he was innocent and only being framed up because he was considered too strict and did not give his 14-year old twin girls the room to be wayward.

He claimed that the girls became promiscuous after they were allegedly raped by the son of a native doctor. He said the allegations of rape and incest against him were instigated by his wife who abandoned the house because he lost his job.

He alleged that what finally pushed the girls to make the false allegation against him was his threat that he will take them to the village.
