Spokesperson of the Nigeria Police, Jimoh Moshood, has alleged that the siege on the Abuja residence of Senate President Bukola Saraki may have been staged by the security aides of Saraki.

In a statement on Tuesday, Moshood revealed that the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, has ordered a probe into the incident.

Concise had reported on Tuesday that operatives of the Department of State Services and policemen laid siege to Saraki’s home in Abuja.

Saraki had also alleged that the siege was an attempt to stop some members of the Senate from defecting from the ruling party.
