Police Will Join the Fight Against Boko Haram – IGP Arase

Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase on thursday said that the Police will get involved in the fight against the Boko Haram insurgency in the Northeast.

Arase disclosed this through a statement issued by the Force Spokesperson, Olabisi Kolawole, in Abuja, when a delegation of from the U.S. Embassy led by Amb. Daniel Mozena, paid him a visit at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.

“Our 4,000 operational policemen are working in partnership with the military to end
insurgency in the North-East”, he said.

Arase also discosed that a deputy commissioner of Police had already been deployed to the Operations Command Centre in Maiduguri.

Amb. Mozena lauded the efforts of the police in their fight against the Boko Haram insurgency, and offered to assist the Police in handling the issue of terror suspects who may surrender their arms.
