Politics Is Not My Assignment, Even A Billion Dollars Cannot Change It — Bishop Oyedepo Declares

The Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, widely known as Winners Chapel, David Oyedepo, has firmly dismissed any possibility of participating in partisan politics, insisting that no amount of financial incentive, including one billion United States dollars, could persuade him to abandon his spiritual calling.

The cleric made this declaration while addressing worshippers during the impartation service at the church’s annual convocation, Shiloh 2025, an event that attracts thousands of Christian faithful from Nigeria and other parts of the world.

Okay News reports that Bishop Oyedepo used the platform to stress the importance of divine purpose, warning believers against distractions that could derail them from their God-ordained assignments. According to him, fulfillment and influence are only achieved when individuals remain committed to the specific calling placed upon their lives.

Recounting a past spiritual warning, the bishop reminded congregants of earlier messages delivered years ago, noting that global and national challenges unfolding today had already been foretold. He said, “In 2015, I warned the church that trouble was coming. Did not trouble come?”

Drawing a clear boundary between faith leadership and political engagement, Oyedepo stated unequivocally that politics does not align with his divine mandate. He said, “Partisan politics is off my calling. If you give me one billion United States dollars to join politics, I will not, because it is off my course.”

Beyond personal conviction, the church leader highlighted what he described as the urgency of the present era, describing a world in desperate need of divine solutions. He referenced Romans 8:19, noting that humanity is yearning for the manifestation of God’s children to bring light and direction in times of darkness.

“The world is groaning in darkness, but as embedded in Romans 8:19, the world is waiting for the earnest manifestations of the children of God,” he said. “The army of God is about to emerge to proffer solutions to national crises in the order of Joseph and Daniel. It is the day of what eyes have not seen or ears heard.”

Oyedepo further encouraged believers to remain steadfast in their spiritual pursuits, urging them to emulate biblical figures who influenced nations without compromising their divine assignments. According to him, meaningful transformation in society comes when individuals operate fully within their God-given purpose.

Shiloh 2025 commenced on December nine and is scheduled to conclude on December fourteen, 2025. The gathering is holding at the Faith Tabernacle, located within Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State. The annual event features intense worship sessions, spiritual teachings, impartation services, and fellowship among participants.
