Here is a news report with the facts contained in the article above:

The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, has convicted Dr. Anuoluwapo Adepoju, a medical doctor and founder of MedContour Services Ltd., over the death of a client, Nneka Onwuzuligbo, who died after a failed plastic surgery in 2020.

The conviction was disclosed by Babatunde Irukera, a former Director-General of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), who personally prosecuted the case. Dr. Adepoju was found guilty on all five counts charged by the FCCPC.

The FCCPC had arraigned Dr. Adepoju in 2020 for shunning summons to appear and produce a certain document. The agency accused her of conducting a failed plastic surgery that resulted in the death of Nneka Onwuzuligbo.

The conviction is seen by some as a milestone in holding professionals accountable for their actions. Irukera tweeted, “Today is a day of pride for me that I personally prosecuted Anu Adepoju and her medical practice…The wheel of justice may grind slowly, but we must see it through.”
