Power Generation in Nigeria Rises to 3,128,50 Mega Watts

Generation capacity, made a positive rebound of 3, 128.50MegaWatt on Friday, after all the Discos received zero MW allocation from the system operator, Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN on Thursday.

According to the country’s operational report, as at March 31, the peak power generation of March 30, stood at 3, 766.7megawatt, while its lowest generation was 3,029.3megawatt.

The data from the Nigerian Systems Operations, NSO, Department of the TCN, website, www.nsong. org, indicated that power generation peaked at 3, 128.50MW as at 09:17 AM:00 on Friday. The 3, 128.50MW which was distributed across the 11 electricity Distribution Companies. DISCOs are as follows: Ikeja – 469.28MW;

Abuja – 359.78MW;

Eko – 344.14MW;

Benin – 281.57MW;

Enugu – 281.57MW;

Ibadan – 406.71MW;

Jos – 172.07MW;

Kano – 250.28MW;

Kaduna – 250.28MW;

Port Harcourt – 203.35MW and Yola – 109.50MW.
