An Assistant Inspector General (AIG), Ibrahim Kpotum Idris from Niger State, may have been appointed as the acting Inspector-General of Police following the exit of Mr. Solomon Arase from the position on Monday.

Idris was accompanied to President Muhammadu Buhari’s office by Arase at 2:20pm on Tuesday.

Some officials were seen carrying the new rank which Idris would be decorated with.

Idris and Arase are still in the President’s office at the time of filing this report.

Some officers waiting outside the President’s office for the ceremony to end were already jubilating that Niger State was producing the IGP for the first time.
