The Presidency has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari is always ready to host and have talks with former President Goodluck Jonathan regarding the arms procurement scandal which billions of naira was appropriated for.

With each passing day, the public calls for the former President to explain his role in the scandal, keeps growing.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, revealed to Punch Newspapers on Saturday, that Buhari was willing to meet with Jonathan on the matter.

The President is expected to give insight into his role in the arms deals of his administration- an explanation which is expected to be beneficial to the Economic and Fincancial Crimes Commission in its investigation of the massive funds diversion.

Adesina was quoted to have said: “A former President should always have access to a sitting one. It would be uncouth and indecent to shut out a former occupant of such lofty office. If some people did it to their predecessors in the past, it is not this President who believes in decency and civility.

“Yes, President Buhari will always grant audience to former President Jonathan, if there is any request for such. A rebuff does not come into the picture at all.”

The former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, who reported directly to Jonathan, is being investigated for playing a major role in the diversion and disbursement of arms funds.
