President Muhammadu Buhari has received and approved a third report on investigation into the misappropriation of funds meant to procure arms for the Nigerian army during the previous administration, The Punch reports.

The EFCC has been instructed to go after those indicted in the fresh report.

The report was created by a Presidential panel put up to probe the arms deal fraud.

The first interim report was submitted in November, 2015, while Buhari got the second in January 2016. After this, he ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to investigate 18 serving and retired military officers, mainly from the Nigerian Air Force.

It’s believed that the President might reveal highlights of the report during the week.

“The fraud uncovered in this fresh report is massive. All things being equal, the government will be looking at the possibility of making highlights of the report public this week, probably during the Sallah break,” someone familiar with the matter said.
