President Buhari Vows to Secure the Release of Chibok, Dapchi Girls’

By Farouk Mohammed

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday reechoed his administration’s resolve to ensure the rescue of Chibok and Dapchi schoolgirls from Boko Haram.

Buhari made this known during a meeting with Governor Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe state, as well as the parents of the missing 101 Dapchi schoolgirls at the Government House, Damaturu.

Traditional rulers, community leaders, and top government officials among other stakeholders were also at the meeting.

The girls have been unaccounted for after Boko Haram terrorists invaded their school, Government Girls Science Technical College (GGSTC), Dapchi, on 19 February.

Buhari, who was in the state to sympathise with the government and families of the missing girls, said the federal government was partnering with some organisations for the safe return of the girls.

On his part, governor Gaidam thanked Buhari for the visit, describing his presence as a fatherly one.
