President Buhari Writes Senates, Seeks Confirmation of Aisha Ahmed As CBN Deputy Governor

President Muhammadu Buhari has sought Senate confirmation for the appointment of Mrs Aisha Ahmad as a Deputy Governor in the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The president’s request is contained in a letter which was read out loud during Thursday’s plenary session presided over by Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu.

‎“I have the pleasure to present Mrs Aisha Ahmad for confirmation as Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, replacing one of the bank’s deputy governors, who retired earlier this year,” the letter read in part.

‎Buhari’s request for the confirmation of Ahmad is in accordance with the provisions of Section 8 of the Central Bank of Nigeria (Establishment) Act 2007.
