President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria will depart Abuja, the federal capital, on December 20, 2025, for working visits to Borno, Bauchi, and Lagos states.

Okay News reports that Presidential Spokesperson Bayo Onanuga announced the itinerary. The trips combine official duties with personal engagements.

In Maiduguri, capital of Borno State in northeastern Nigeria, the President will commission projects. These were executed by the state government under Governor Babagana Zulum in partnership with federal authorities.

Tinubu will also attend the wedding of Sadeeq Sheriff. The groom is son of former Borno Governor Senator Ali Modu Sheriff.

From Borno, the President proceeds to Bauchi State, also in the northeast. He will offer condolences to the government and family of renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi.

The Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood leader passed away on November 27, 2025. The visit acknowledges his religious influence.

The tour concludes in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial hub and southwestern economic centre. President Tinubu will spend the end-of-year holidays there.

During the Lagos stay, he is scheduled to participate in several events. These include the Eyo Festival on December 27 at Tafawa Balewa Square.

The cultural masquerade festival will honour notable figures. They include the President’s late mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, and former Lagos governors Alhaji Lateef Jakande and Chief Michael Otedola.

This multi-state itinerary reflects a blend of governance, cultural participation, and personal commitments. It underscores domestic engagement amid national leadership responsibilities.

The visits highlight federal-state collaboration on development projects. They also recognise cultural and religious milestones across regions.

Such tours strengthen ties between the presidency and subnational entities in Nigeria’s federal system.
