PSG Defeat Flamengo on Penalties to Lift FIFA Intercontinental Cup

Paris Saint-Germain have claimed the FIFA Intercontinental Cup after edging Flamengo 2–1 on penalties in a tense final played at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Doha, Qatar. The match finished 1–1 after normal time, forcing a shootout to decide the champion.

PSG struck first during the match through Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, but Flamengo responded with an equaliser from Jorginho, ensuring neither side could find a winner before the final whistle. With the contest finely balanced, the outcome was settled from the spot.

Goalkeeper Matvey Safonov emerged as the hero for the French champions, producing a series of crucial saves during the shootout. Flamengo missed several penalties, including the decisive effort, allowing PSG to clinch the trophy and add another major international honour to their collection this season.
