Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) delivered a dominant performance on Wednesday, trouncing Real Madrid 4-0 in the semi-final of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup at the MetLife Stadium, securing a spot in the final against Chelsea.

A first-half blitz saw Fabian Ruiz score a brace, with Ousmane Dembele and Gonçalo Ramos also on the scoresheet for Luis Enrique’s side, which showcased its clinical edge and tactical sharpness.

The match marked a dramatic reunion between Kylian Mbappe and his former club, PSG. The French star, who left the Ligue 1 giants in 2024 for Madrid, had only just recovered from illness and started the match. However, his return to action was overshadowed by PSG’s ruthless execution on the pitch.

Madrid’s defensive frailties were exposed early, with Ruiz opening the scoring in the sixth minute. The goal came after Raul Acensio, stepping in for the suspended Dean Huijsen, was dispossessed by Dembele, who set up Ruiz for an easy tap-in past Thibaut Courtois.

Dembele added a second just three minutes later, taking advantage of a sloppy backpass from Antonio Rudiger, pouncing on the loose ball and finishing neatly.

In the 24th minute, Ruiz struck again, heading home a perfectly measured cross from Achraf Hakimi after a swift PSG counterattack down the right flank.

With Real Madrid chasing shadows and struggling to create clear chances, substitute Gonçalo Ramos capped off the emphatic win in stoppage time. The Portuguese forward scored from another quick PSG break as Madrid’s defense failed to regroup after sustained but fruitless possession.

Both sides were forced into changes, with Willian Pacho suspended for PSG and replaced by Lucas Beraldo, while Madrid’s rejigged backline proved ineffective in the face of PSG’s relentless pace and pressure.

PSG will now face Chelsea in Sunday’s final as they bid for their first-ever FIFA Club World Cup title.
