The Port and Terminal Multi-Services Limited (PTML) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) generated N116.2 billion in revenue in the third quarter of 2025, marking a 34.3 per cent increase compared to the N86.5 billion collected in the same period of 2024.
Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Joe Anani, disclosed this during the Command’s Q3 press briefing in Lagos, six weeks after assuming office. He said the Command had recorded N350.3 billion in total revenue between January and September 2025, representing 96.6 per cent of the N362.5 billion collected throughout 2024.
Anani attributed the improved performance to enhanced operational efficiency under the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS), also known as B’Odogwu.
“I took over a well-organised command and, on my watch, we have sustained the tempo of achievements in revenue collection, trade facilitation, prevention of smuggling, stakeholders’ engagement, and inter-agency collaboration,” he said.
He noted that the Q3 revenue alone was a significant leap, with N116.2 billion collected between July and September 2025. “This figure is 34.3 percent higher than the N86.6 billion collected in Q3 2024,” he added.
Beyond revenue, the Command also made key enforcement breakthroughs. During the period under review, officers intercepted firearms, including one pistol, two magazines, and 12 rounds of live ammunition.
Additionally, the Command handed over 40ft and 20ft containers of imported pharmaceutical products, including fake antibiotics, to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).
Anani reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to trade facilitation and national security, pledging to sustain the momentum through the final quarter of the year.
