DOHA, Qatar — Hamad International Airport has announced its withdrawal from all international exhibitions, conferences, and industry awards programmes, citing the ongoing conflict in the region.
The decision was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, as the airport adjusts its global engagement strategy in response to heightened security concerns.
Okay News reports that the withdrawal affects several high-profile aviation events, including the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2026 and the Passenger Terminal Expo 2026, both scheduled to take place in London.
In its statement, Hamad International Airport emphasised that the decision was guided by the need to prioritise safety amid the evolving situation.
“The safety and wellbeing of our passengers, our staff, and their families is, and remains, our absolute priority,” the airport said.
The airport also expressed appreciation to its global partners and stakeholders for their continued support during the period of uncertainty.
“We thank our aviation partners and stakeholders for their continued support,” the statement added.
