Aggrieved lawmakers on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are planning to leave the party next week.

Concise News understands that these legislators are members of the Reformed All Progressives Congress (R-APC).

Other notable members of this group include the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and his counterpart in the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara.

It was gathered that they had wanted to announce their departure from the APC on Thursday.

But the house members, it was learned, changed their minds moments after the APC caucus convened an emergency meeting the same day.

The aim of the meeting was to convince the R-APC faction not to leave the party, according to sources.

“Discussions are ongoing and members want to concretise on strategies before the mass defection will take place,” a source told The Punch.

“What is known is that the APC has given us signals that there is no accommodation for us in the party.

“We are looking forward to any time before July 26, which is Thursday, next week, to move.”
