Rangers International of Enugu have emerged as the champions of the Nigeria Professional Football League for the 2015/16 season.

The Flying Antelopes beat El-kanemi Warriors 4 – 0 at the fully packed Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium on Sunday, October 2, to end their 32-year wait for silverware.

Obinna Nwobodo scored a stunning strike and Chisom Egbuchulam scored a hat-trick to help Rangers clinch the League title.

The victory also means that Rangers have now won the league title seven times, equalling a record set by former champions Enyimba.

Rangers have won the cup in 1974, 1975, 1977, 1981, 1982, 1984 and 2016.

Rivers United who were in the hunt for the league shield failed to get the desired results as they went down against Akwa United.
