Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, the renowned international evangelist and founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, has died, at the age of 80.

The news of his death was announced in a family statement titled “Glorious Transition,” describing him as a “faithful soldier of the cross” who dedicated over six decades of his life to spreading the gospel through fiery evangelism, dynamic teaching, and prophetic demonstrations of God’s power.

“With hearts full of gratitude, we celebrate the triumphant homegoing of Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, who passed on to glory on October 6, 2025, at the age of 80. A faithful soldier of the cross has been called to rest,” the family said.

The statement noted that Ukpai’s ministry touched millions of lives, transforming destinies both within Nigeria and around the world. Known for his powerful crusades and interdenominational outreach, he was regarded as one of the foremost evangelists of his generation, often referred to as “a spiritual general and a founding father of faith.”

“Dedicating over six decades of his life to fiery evangelism, dynamic teaching of the Word, and prophetic demonstrations of the power of God, he impacted millions of lives and transformed destinies within Nigeria and across the globe,” the statement added.

The family described him as “a loving husband, a devoted father, and a mentor to many,” whose life reflected unwavering devotion to God and service to humanity.
