A member of the House of Representatives, Hon Rotimi Makinde has said that there were grand plans by the ruling People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to deliberately extend the tenure of President Goodluck Jonathan by two years, using security related matters.

In a Facebook post, Mr. Makinde opined that Mr. President and his handlers were never ready to conduct elections this 2015, alleging that the aim is to scuttle the upcoming polls.

He revealed that the recent shift in dates of the general election which was based on security report was untrue.

According to him, the plot is for Jonathan and his handlers to gradually influence the National Assembly members so they can approve the elongation by initial 6 months and further extend the tenure of the President by two years.

He affirmed that the President’s proposal for tenure elongation may likely pay off as it is already gaining momentum, especially within the circle of many aggrieved members who never secured return ticket.

Relatively, he said that Jonathan and his people fear that the emergence of Buhari will not only take power from them, but will throw them in prison.

He called on all Nigerians to pray fervently and stand against the intensions to extend the tenure by two years.
