Reports have emerged indicating that Nigeria’s wealthiest woman, Folorunsho Alakija, and her husband Modupe Alakija, have separated after more than three decades of marriage.
According to a report by The Will, the couple, who have been married for over 30 years, is said to be facing significant challenges in their relationship, leading to their decision to live separately.
Despite being parents to four children, the couple are no longer residing together in their opulent matrimonial home in Ikoyi, Lagos.
The strain on their relationship has reportedly led to frequent conflicts, prompting Folorunsho Alakija to request privacy within her residence. In response to this decision, her husband sought alternative accommodation nearby.
Sources close to the situation revealed that, despite maintaining a united front in public, the couple’s relationship has been under strain for several years.
