Romelu Lukaku has reportedly made up his mind to rejoin Chelsea in an £80million transfer this summer, rejecting Manchester United in the process.

The Belgium international enjoyed another superb season in the Premier League, scoring 25 times in total to finish runner-up to Tottenham’s Harry Kane in the Golden Boot rankings.

Speaking yesterday, Lukaku revealed he was in talks to leave current club Everton, and it is now claimed he wants a second spell at Stamford Bridge, just three years after leaving.

The 24-year-old cost Everton £28million to sign from Chelsea following a season on loan at Goodison Park in 2013/14, but the Independent claim it’ll cost the Blues around £80million to bring him back.

Lukaku is still said to be a big Chelsea fan and idolises the legendary Didier Drogba, a player whose performances he’d now like the chance to replicate in a Blue shirt.

Although Everton’s asking price is said to be closer to £100million, Chelsea hope they can get that fee down.

One thing that could still swing things in United’s favour is the fact that Everton would rather do business with them due to interest in a swap deal involving the likes of Chris Smalling and Sergio Romero.

Lukaku then joined Everton for 28 million pounds

United that they expect Lukaku to choose Chelsea, with the player himself hinting that he’d already come to a decision when speaking last night.

‘I know what’s happening, but I can’t tell you anything more,’ he said after Belgium’s win over Czech Republic. ‘I know what’s happening. I know what’s happening, but I will leave the talks to my agent.

‘The most important thing is: I want to win trophies. We are now talking to the club. As for the rest… I’m looking ahead. What I would like most to play in the Champions League and try to win the Premier League once. Or better: a few times. That would be the most beautiful thing.

‘That’s important for my progress as a player. I don’t want to stay at the same level. I want to improve and I know where I want to do that.

‘We’ll see what happens.’
