Despite Samsung’s claims of no disruption, the National Samsung Electronics Union says the ongoing three-day strike is affecting production. Over 5,000 union members have stopped work, seeking better pay and benefits. The union represents over 30,000 workers, a significant portion of Samsung’s workforce.

Samsung reported a significant increase in expected operating profits, up 1,452.2% to $7.54 billion, and a 23.3% rise in sales. However, negotiations between the union and management have failed to resolve differences on benefits and a 5.1% pay raise offer was rejected.

Okay.ng understands that the strike may impact memory chip production, a crucial segment of Samsung’s business. The union claims the company is not listening to their concerns, and the strike is a desperate measure to be heard.
