The Lagos State Government has assured residents that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration will complete all projects initiated under his tenure before the end of his second term in 2027.

Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, gave the assurance during an interactive session with journalists on Friday, highlighting several landmark projects nearing completion.

Key Projects Highlighted
– Massey Street Children’s Hospital:
– A new 150-bed, seven-storey facility is almost completed.
– It will replace the century-old Massey Hospital established in 1914.
– Equipping the hospital is the final stage before unveiling in 2026.

– Ojo General Hospital:
– Construction is ongoing, with completion expected within the administration’s tenure.

– Opebi-Mende Link Bridge:
– Set for commissioning before the end of 2025.

– Food Hub (largest in Sub-Saharan Africa):
– Already completed and scheduled for unveiling soon.
– Designed to store food sufficient to feed five million people for three months in case of famine.
– Can also help stabilize food prices during inflationary spikes.

Rail Infrastructure
– Blue Line and Red Line Rail Projects (Phase 2): Construction ongoing, with completion targeted before 2027.
– Green Rail Line: Preparatory work underway, with visible progress expected before the administration’s exit.

Omotoso stressed that Governor Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, are determined to ensure no project is abandoned. He described the initiatives as part of the administration’s broader vision to transform Lagos into a modern, livable megacity.
