Coalition of Saturday’s governorship election results has been suspended in Kano due to security reasons.

Riskuwa Arab-Shehu, Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, made the announcement after the collation of results from the 43 out of the 44 Local Government Areas of the state.

Arab-Shehu said the suspension was necessary because of reports of the security challenges from the only local government left to be announced in the governorship elections results.

Okay Nigeria understands that the result of Nassarawa local government hasn’t still been announced.

Explaining further, Arab-Shehu said INEC will generate the result, verify and consider those that are acceptable within the electoral law.

He also added that party agents would be invited for the verification of the results to ensure transparency during the regeneration of the results.

Okay Nigeria had earlier reported that Police in Kano arrested Kano state deputy governor, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, and a commissioner, Murtala Sule Garo, after they stormed a collation centre in an attempt to cause confusion in delivery of Nasarawa LG election results.
