Chelsea may face a fight to hold onto one of their top players, after it was claimed Barcelona are eyeing long term player Cesar Azpilicueta.
The left back has shown during his time in the Premier League that he can play in a variety of positions, and is impressive going forward as well as at the back – and can also adapt to other systems should he need to, playing at right back for the Blues to great success.
It’s that which has seen Barcelona seriously monitor the Spaniard, who may well be keen on a move back to his home country, and to arguably the biggest club in La Liga to boot.
Top player
Of course, given how good Azpi has been for Chelsea, becoming one of their best players and most consistent performers, it’s hard to imagine him actually being allowed to leave.
Add to the fact Barcelona are managerless come the summer and the future of the direction of the club is unclear – and that Conte is taking Chelsea to even higher places, it may be the case that he opts to stay at Stamford Bridge.
