Senate confirms Buhari’s nominees for NCC, NIPSS

The Senate on Thursday confirmed nominees to occupy positions in the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), and the National Communication Commission (NCC).

Okay.ng reports that President Muhammadu Buhari had asked the senate to confirm the nominees.

The president’s request was contained in three letters read by Senate President Ahmad Lawan on the floor of the upper legislative chamber last Tuesday.

The confirmed nominees are Aliyu Abubakar (North East), Prof. Millionaire Abowei (South South) and Mr Abdulazeez Salman (North Central) as Non-Executive Commissioners as well as Mr Uba Maska who was reappointed as as Executive Commissioner for NCC.
