The senate which was expected to resume plenary on July 21,after the current national holiday has now postponed resumption for another week to July 28.

This was contained in a statement by the clerk on Friday.

“This is to inform all distinguished senators of the Federal Republic of Nigeria that the resumption of the senate in plenary has been rescheduled from Tuesday, 21st July 2015 to Tuesday, 28th July, 2015,” the statement by the senate clerk reads.

The statement was silent on why the senators are extending their break but it is believed that this is to give a bit more time for the resolution of the crisis over leadership positions which none of the chambers of the Assembly has been able to resolve amicably since the inauguration.
