The Nigerian Senate today threw out a bill by Senator Remi Tinubu seeking special status and federal grant for Lagos State.

The bill was rejected after failing a voice vote called by Ike Ekweremadu. The bill sought special status for Lagos state in recognition of its socio-economic significance to the country.
