Sergio Aguero Eyes Return to Football as Club Owner

By Yusuf Abubakar

Former Manchester City and Barcelona striker, Sergio Aguero, has revealed plans to make a return to football, this time as a club owner.

The 36-year-old, who retired from professional football in 2021 due to an irregular heartbeat, shared his ambitions during a recent chat with Argentine streamer Martin Perez Disalvo, known as Coscu.

Aguero, who has kept the identity of the club under wraps, expressed his excitement about the new venture.

“The truth is that I’m thinking of getting involved in a football club as an owner,” he said. “I’m not going to say which club it is, but I think we are on the right path.”

Discussing his vision, Aguero added, “I like to be able to manage, to help the club to progress, to build a good team, a good staff.” His passion for football and desire to contribute to the sport in a new capacity were evident as he spoke about his future plans.

Aguero’s illustrious playing career includes a decade at Manchester City, where he became the club’s all-time leading scorer with 260 goals.

His time at City was marked by numerous titles, including five Premier League championships.

After a brief stint at Barcelona, his career was cut short due to health issues.
