Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been conferred with another traditional title less than a week after receiving a similar honour in Oyo State. On Friday, December 26, 2025, Seyi was installed as the “Okanlòmo of Eyọ Ọba Alakẹtẹ Pupa, Laba Ẹkun” in Lagos, ahead of the Eyo Festival scheduled to take place tomorrow.
Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, present at the ceremony, congratulated Seyi Tinubu on social media, describing the title as a reflection of his service, character, and commitment to Yoruba culture. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including members of the Federal Executive Council, Senator Teslim Folarin, former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, and traditional rulers from across Nigeria and the Republic of Benin.
This latest honour follows Seyi Tinubu’s recent installation as Okanlomo of Yorubaland by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade. The prestigious Okanlomo titles signify deep respect, affection, and importance within the Yoruba community, highlighting Seyi Tinubu’s growing recognition in cultural and traditional circles.
