Shehu Sani speaks on kidnap of UBEC chairman, daughter

Shehu Sani, Nigerian senator represents Kaduna Central, has spoken on the kidnap of the Chairman of Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Mohammad Mahmood Abubakar and his daughter, along Kaduna-Abuja highway on Monday.

Sani said the incident is tragic and unfortunate.

Okay Nigeria had reported that some armed bandits along the route to Abuja ambushed two vehicles including a sports utility vehicle belonging to the UBEC chairman around Kurmin Kare village along the highway at about 3:30 pm on Monday, shot the driver dead, and later abducted the UBEC chairman and his daughter.

Meanwhile, Shehu Sani reacting on the kidnap called on the security operatives to increase their efforts to secure their release.

In his words:

“The reported kidnapping of Dr Muhammad Abubakar Mahmud and his daughter and the killing of his driver along Abuja Kaduna road today is tragic and unfortunate.

“I call on the security agencies to jointly intensify efforts to secure their freedom. My heart goes to the victims and their families. May the soul of the deceased Rest in Peace.”
