LOKOJA, Nigeria – Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Kogi State to commission the Barefoot Renewable Energy College and the Green Hydrogen Research and Demonstration Pilot Plant in Osara.
Okay News reports that the Vice President was received by Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, alongside senior government officials and other dignitaries, ahead of the commissioning ceremony.
The two facilities are expected to advance President Bola Tinubu’s agenda for improved energy security by promoting renewable energy education, research and technological innovation. They will also help develop the skilled workforce needed to support Nigeria’s transition to a greener economy.
Government officials say the projects are designed to strengthen the country’s renewable energy capacity, encourage clean energy development and contribute to long-term industrial growth through sustainable energy solutions.
