Abuja, Nigeria – Vice President Kashim Shettima has expressed deep sorrow over the killing of 25 people in multiple explosions across Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, ahead of his scheduled visit to the area.
Okay News reports that the Vice President condemned the attacks, stressing that no religion permits the taking of innocent lives, noting that the sanctity of human life is a core principle shared by major world faiths.
Shettima made the remarks on Tuesday during the closing session of the Annual Ramadan Tafsir held at the State House Mosque in Abuja, where he offered prayers for the victims of the трагic incident.
He prayed for the souls of those who lost their lives, asking Almighty Allah to grant them eternal rest and admit them into Al-Jannah Firdaus, while also seeking strength for their families to bear the loss.
The Vice President further called on Muslims to uphold the teachings of Ramadan beyond the holy month, urging the faithful to reflect on its lessons and allow its values to guide their lives even after its conclusion.
