The late Muhammadu Buhari remains one of Nigeria’s most prominent historical figures, having steered the nation’s affairs across two completely distinct political eras. He first served as the military Head of State from 1983 to 1985, and decades later returned to civil politics, winning successive elections to serve as the nation’s democratically elected civilian president between 2015 to 2023.
The event, held at the Nigerian Army International Conference Centre, brought together a massive gathering of top-ranking military commanders, senior diplomats, and political stakeholders. The ongoing session of prayers and supplications is dedicated to sustaining his legacy of national service while reinforcing elite consensus and administrative continuity under the current administration.
