Maiduguri, Nigeria – The Vice-president of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima has visited the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital to sympathise with victims of the recent explosions in Maiduguri and offer federal government support.
Okay News reports that the Vice President’s visit follows his earlier expression of grief over the deaths of 25 people in the attacks. During the hospital visit, Shettima conveyed condolences to affected families and reassured victims of the government’s commitment to their care and recovery.
The visit comes as Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains outside the country on an official engagement, with the Vice President representing the federal government on ground in Borno State.
Shettima had earlier condemned the attacks, stressing that no religion supports the killing of innocent lives, and urged Nigerians to uphold the values of peace, compassion, and unity, especially during the closing days of Ramadan.
