Vice President Kashim Shettima has visited survivors of the recent bomb explosion at a mosque in the Gamboru Market area of Maiduguri, Borno State, to commiserate with those injured and families affected by the attack.

During the visit, Shettima met victims receiving medical care and conveyed the condolences of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Government.

Okay News reports that the Vice President assured the victims that the government remains committed to supporting them and addressing the aftermath of the tragic incident.

A statement issued by Stanley Nkwocha, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications in the Office of the Vice President, said Shettima pledged continued assistance and solidarity with the affected community.

The explosion occurred on Wednesday evening during Maghrib prayers at the Al-Adum Jumaat Mosque, claiming the lives of at least five worshippers and leaving about 35 others injured. Authorities continue to assess the situation as security agencies intensify efforts to prevent further attacks and protect civilians.
