A Quds procession by the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), or Shiites, in Abuja on Friday, March 28, has resulted in a clash with security operatives. The confrontation happened around the Banex roundabout in Wuse 2, Okay.ng reports.

The Quds procession, a yearly event held by Shiites worldwide on the final Friday of Ramadan, expresses solidarity with Palestine and protests against the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.

During the Abuja demonstration, participants carried Palestinian flags and chanted slogans advocating for Palestinian freedom. The situation deteriorated when some protesters reportedly threw stones at security personnel, prompting them to fire shots to disperse the crowd. Details regarding casualties remain unconfirmed.
