The untimely death of veteran Nollywood actor, Mr Ibu, has left a deep wound in the hearts of many, including popular skit maker Sir Balo, who recently shared a touching tribute to the late actor.

Sir Balo fondly recalled his encounter with Mr Ibu, revealing how the seasoned actor had selflessly supported him in his journey as a video editor.

Mr Ibu, known for his iconic comedic roles in Nigerian cinema, passed away on March 2, 2024, following a cardiac arrest during surgery.

His sudden departure has sparked an outpouring of grief and tributes from fans and colleagues alike.

Reflecting on his personal experience with the late actor, Sir Balo shared how their paths crossed in 2014 at an event.

Recounting the encounter, Sir Balo revealed that he had approached Mr Ibu with a heartfelt desire to pursue video editing. In a gesture of kindness and generosity, Mr Ibu purchased Sir Balo’s first laptop, enabling him to embark on his journey as a video editor.

In a poignant tribute to the late actor, Sir Balo expressed his grief over the loss of Mr Ibu while thanking him for his invaluable support and mentorship. “Why do good people die. You bought me my 1st laptop for editing in 2014. When I ran to you and asked you! Daddy, I want to learn movie editing. Rest in peace, Daddy,” Sir Balo mournfully remarked.
