Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has called on all eligible voters across the state to participate actively in the upcoming governorship election scheduled for Saturday, November 8, 2025.
Speaking at a well-attended homecoming event held at the Central School Field in Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area, Soludo urged his supporters to come out in large numbers to vote, describing the election as a decisive moment for Anambra’s future.
According to Okay News reports, the event, which attracted thousands of residents, traditional rulers, and political leaders, showcased Soludo’s deep connection with his hometown and his commitment to grassroots mobilisation.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Soludo said, “Across Anambra, they say we are the consensus candidate, but your vote is your voice, and on November 8, I urge each of you to make that voice heard. This is the impact of grassroots mobilisation in shaping the future of Anambra State.”
He added that the progress made by his administration since taking office was a reflection of collective effort, stressing that more development projects would be achieved with continued support from the people.
The rally also served as a platform for community leaders to express their support for Soludo’s re-election bid. A local leader, Chief Evarist Ubah, said, “Soludo has shown unwavering commitment to our state. We must stand by him and ensure he has the mandate to continue his good work.”
Similarly, the President General of the Isuofia People’s Movement, Fidelis Okafor, lauded Soludo’s leadership, describing him as “a governor who listens and delivers.” He noted that Soludo’s approach to governance had strengthened grassroots participation and improved socio-economic development across Anambra.
Another community leader, Ifeanyi Ifemelu, said, “His policies have had a positive impact on our lives, and it is essential for him to return to office to continue this momentum. We need his leadership now more than ever.”
In his closing remarks, Soludo reminded the gathering that the election was not merely a political event but a collective decision about the future of Anambra State. “Election day is not just about choosing leaders; it is about choosing the future we want for our children and generations to come,” he said.
The event, which also served as a fundraising rally, saw donations of over ₦200 million from supporters and community groups determined to strengthen Soludo’s re-election campaign.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed full readiness for the November 8 governorship election, with about 24,000 ad hoc staff and 540 journalists accredited to cover the polls across 5,718 wards in Anambra State.
INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, reiterated the commission’s commitment to conducting free, fair, and credible elections, stating that 16 candidates from various political parties will contest the poll against the incumbent governor.
