ABUJA, Nigeria – Nigeria‘s Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, has called on the people of the South-East region to support President Bola Tinubu for a second term in 2027 following an endorsement rally on Monday, June 15, 2026.
Okay News reports that Soludo made the appeal in a post on the social media platform X on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, after attending an event organized by the Ebonyi State Government.
“Yesterday, I joined my brother, the Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, alongside other progressives in Abakaliki to stand with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR,” Soludo wrote.
In the statement, Soludo asked voters in the region to avoid past political patterns and align with national progressives.
“The time has come for us to unite. Enough of the politics of lamentations. Ndi Igbo, we must move from the alliance of protest to the alliance for progress – an alliance for prosperity. We must unite. We must not waste our votes again,” Soludo said.
During the earlier rally in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, Soludo joined Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, to formally declare backing for the president.
The endorsement event brought together political leaders and supporters to publicly express their stance ahead of the next general election.
