The First Lady of Anambra State, Dr. Nonye Soludo, has showered praises on 15-year-old art prodigy, Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo-Okeke, who recently shattered global records by creating the world’s largest handmade canvas painting, okay.ng reports.
Kanyeyachukwu, affectionately known as “Kanye,” lives with autism but refuses to be defined by it. His groundbreaking work was unveiled on April 2 at Eagle Square in Abuja, earning him a coveted spot in the Guinness World Records. The colossal masterpiece, titled “Impossibility is a Myth,” spans a staggering 12,303 square meters—smashing the previous record of 9,652 square meters.
More than just a record-breaking moment, Kanye’s creation carries a powerful message. It seeks to shine a global spotlight on the lives of children and adults with autism and special needs, while also urging young people everywhere to embrace excellence and dream beyond limitations.
Born in Amichi, Nnewi South LGA, Kanye has already made his mark on the international art scene. His vibrant, thought-provoking works have been displayed in prestigious galleries and museums across Nigeria, the U.S., Europe, Asia, and other parts of Africa earning the admiration of collectors and art lovers worldwide.
In a heartfelt message released from Awka, Dr. Soludo described the young artist as the “definition of tenacity and resilience,” applauding his courage, creativity, and unrelenting spirit.
Kanye’s story is a massive source of inspiration for children everywhere who are navigating challenges and uncertainties,” she said. “He has not only made Anambra proud but has once again placed our state on the global map for excellence, creativity, and ingenuity.”
She encouraged other children in the state to look up to Kanye’s boldness and perseverance, and to see obstacles as stepping stones to greatness.
Kanye will soon be hosted by the governor’s wife for a special event where they’ll explore ways to support his future ambitions and creative journey.
