Startimes has launched five new channels on it’s platform including iROKOtv’s iROKO Play and iROKO Plus that TechCabal reported earlier, in April.

TechMoran reports that the Chinese PayTV company made the announcements today.

Asides the new iROKOtv’s channels, StarTimes announced it is adding three others, including African Movie Channel series (AMC), StarTimes Zone and a sports channel Sports Focus.

“StarTimes is working tirelessly to offer premium and exclusive channels in our spirited efforts to offer relevant and competitive programming at the same affordable subscription fees,” said Mark Liboa, Startimes Vice President for marketing.

The new channels curated by the Nigeria-based VOD network, iROKOtv, will showcase Nollywood content. iROKO Plus will air Nollywood new releases, and behind the scenes while iROKO Play will air celebrity interviews, gossips, and classic Nigerian movies.
