The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is currently investigating Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi following the revelation that he applied for the vacant coaching of the Ivory Coast.

Over the weekend, Côte d’Ivoire published a list of 59 candidates who they claim had applied to replace Herve Renard as coach of the Elephants including Keshi.

Immediately the list was unveiled, the NFF confirmed it will investigate the reports.

This reports comes barely two months since Keshi signed a new, two-year contract to coach the Super Eagles.

In response to the  NFF Keshi’s manager Emmanuel Ado released a statement on Facebook downing playing the application and disclosing that the Delta State born coach is ready to see out his two-year contract with the NFF.

“My client feels highly honored to be short listed by Cote D’Ivore- a great footballing country,” part of Ado’s statement read.

Speaking further NFF President Amaju Pinnick  also confirmed that they will be looking into the issue.

“We will look into it. It will be suicidal to say he wants to seek employment elsewhere when we are not owing him,” he said.
