Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Abdelrahman Burhan, Sudan’s new chief of military council, has given directives for the release of detained protesters.

Okay Nigeria had reported on Friday that Awad Ibn Auf, Sudan’s defence minister, stepped down as chief of military council and handed over to Abdel Fattah Abdelrahman Burhan.

However, details of the directives given for the protesters was contained in a televised address on Saturday.
